As part of the Live Arts Exchange (LAX) Festival Vol. 8, a 10-day women in arts festival by non-profit Los Angeles Performance Practice. The event includes performances by Lauretta Records artists along with special guests.


THE COMMUNITY

Opening the showcase will be a youth mariachi group featuring 16 students from The Los Angeles Music and Art School LAMusArt, a non-profit arts organization whose mission is to offer the community of East Los Angeles, primarily its K-12 population, with equitable and affordable access to multidisciplinary arts education programs.

In collaboration with Femmes in Food and Women of the Bevolution, the LAX Festival will spotlight female-owned food brands and craft beverages. The menu includes vegan and gluten-free cookies (chocolate chip and double chocolate chip options) by Brune Kitchen, grain-free and gluten-free veggie chips (jalapeño lime and BBQ-flavored options) by Pulp Pantry, plant-powered gluten-free crunchy cactus sticks (smoky chipotle and churro-flavored options) by Nemi Snacks and pineapple cucumber non-alcoholic agua fresca by Agua Bonita.

Homebrew club SoCal Cerveceros will be donating homebrewed beer and cider by their female members Laurie Guiterrez (C Street's Finest), Tyler Sadler, Violet Kaplan of (CruzKap Brews), Two Some Breweries and Sarah Flora (Flora Brewing).

The event will also be collecting musical instrument donations for Chicxs Rockerxs, non-profit organization Chicxs Rockerxs Southeast LA, which provides music programs for trans youth, gender-expansive youth and girls in Southeast Los Angeles. Items include keyboards & cases, keyboard seats, music stands, drumsticks, guitar picks, guitar strings and bass strings.
